Best Indestructible Dog Toys for Pitbulls

Understanding the breed characteristics and energy level of your dog are important factors when determining the right choice of toy for your dog. The Pit Bull is one of the most demanding breeds of dog out there and they are incredible tough on toys. Keeping them entertained is the best way of keeping your Pit Bull out of trouble, so that’s why we have created a list of the most indestructible dog toys for Pit Bulls.

Three different types of toys

There are three main types of toys that you will find on the market, active, distraction and comfort. Depending on what they are for and what they will do, a toy can be placed in one or more of these categories. We’ve briefly explained that below.

  • Active toys are toys that keep your Pit Bull active and busy. Think of things like balls, ropes, tug toys and bones. These all fit into this class because they can easily be tossed, thrown, chased or used for a game of tug of war.
  • Distraction toys are any variety of toy that will captivate their senses, like a KONG toy that is filled with treats or other goodies. The dog will be focused on getting the treats out of the toy, making it perfect for keeping them entertained for an extended duration of time.
  • Comfort toys can be anything from soft toys, to a rope or even squeaker toys. A comfort toy is a toy that your dog loves to carry around and makes them feel comfortable.

Toys to avoid for your Pit Bull

Pit Bulls are serious toy testers, so any soft toys with stuffing in them are probably going to be gone in seconds and could be dangerous to your dog if any material is ingested. These toys may also come with things like squeakers that can lead to a trip to your vets if they are swallowed.

Tennis balls and small foam rubber balls should also be avoided unless your dog is under supervision. Pit Bulls have a tendency to absolutely destroy these toys and once again the materials they are constructed from can be dangerous to your dog.

Rope toys are excellent for a game of tug, but the threads of the toy can be swallowed and get caught up in your dog’s stomach and bowels. This can can lead to a rushed trip to the vets (as we have experienced) and the resultant expensive bills. If you are going to give your Pit Bull a rope toy, make sure you supervise your dog and replace it when it starts to show signs of wear. Another tip is to take the toy away from them when you can’t supervise your dog, this will prevent your Pit Bull from pulling out the threads while you are away.

Safety is the best policy

Don’t underestimate your Pit Bull’s ability to absolutely destroy any toy you put in front of it. Pit Bulls are determined animals and given the time they will chew through even the best toys. Always supervise your canine companion when possible and replace any toy that is starting to look worse for wear.

Why are Pit Balls so hard on toys?

Pit Bulls are known for their destructive power, but why is this? One of the reasons for their extreme chewing ability is the size of their head. Compared to other dogs, a Pit Bulls head and skull is relatively large when compared to a different breed of a similar weight. A Larger head means bigger teeth, jaws and muscles, which usually spells doom for weak toys.

While the larger proportions of a Pit Bull’s head provide increased biting power, the mechanical advantage of a wider jaw also plays a part in their famed chewing ability. Wider jaws create more leverage and torque, which can let them make short work of even the toughest toys on the market.

The final reason is that Pit Bulls are remarkably persistent when it comes to tearing toys apart. This tenacity has sadly made them the target of people who want to use them to fight. Pit Bulls will keep on going even when they have suffered an injury and that spirit makes them incredible toy testers.

Eight Indestructible Dog Toys for Pitbulls

We’ve learned what types of toys there are and what type of toys to avoid, now it’s time to show you what we believe are the best indestructible toys are for your Pit Bull. The toys below should be ideal for your Pit Bull.

Goughnuts Tug Dog Toy MAXX

Goughnuts are known to be the go to brand when it comes to tough dog toys. They have a range of different products and make their toys from seriously strong rubber. One of their products is the Goughnuts Tug toy that is ideal for those Pit Bulls that love to play a bit of tug and is about as durable and tough as you can get.

The Tug is designed for larger dogs and is 11 inches in length, by 6 inches wide and 1.5 inches high. The Goughnuts Tug uses the same rubber compound as is used to manufacture their rings and sticks, but the company has marked the outside of the toy with a red colour to show that there is no safety indicator. According to Goughnuts, the Tug is meant to be an interactive toy that is taken away from the dog after game time has finished, unlike their other toys.

Reviews of the Tug are very positive and the majority of dog owners claim that it is one of the most durable products in their toy arsenal. KONG makes an almost identical product called the Tug Toy, but it seems that the Goughnuts Tug is the stronger and more durable dog toy.

Nylabone Power Chew Wishbone

What dog doesn’t like a bone? The Nylabone Power Chew Wishbone provides double the chewing and is ideal for those Pit Bulls that love to bite down on something. The Wishbone is designed to withstand hours of enjoyment and it comes highly recommended.

The bone is offered in a number of different sizes from small to large, depending on the size of your dog. It has raised bristles that will help clean your Pit Bulls teeth and will control plaque and tarter. Dental care is important to prevent tooth decay or loss, especially when your Pit Bull gets older.  Nylabone has infused natural flavours into the Wishbone, which will keep your dog chewing all day long.

Nylabone’s Wishbone is a hit with dog owners worldwide and seems to be one of the most durable dog toys on the market. The Wishbone shape is a little bit more interesting than the standard bone shape and seems to be ideal for chewers. It is recommended that you replace the toy if you do see any chips or wear on the Wishbone.

KONG Rubber Ball Extreme

The Rubber Ball Extreme is one of our favourite products from KONG and is one of the most durable and tough toys on the market. KONG has manufactured the Extreme Ball in various sizes and it is constructed from KONG’s ultra-strong black rubber material. The ball has been made with a hole in it to hide treats and it is manufactured in the United States.

We have the KONG Rubber Ball Extreme and find that our two dogs love it. The ball is one of the few toys that has not been destroyed by them. They also love it when we put treats in the KONG Ball and they love to play games of fetch with it. The only problems we find with the Ball is that it won’t float (this is because it is so heavy) and it is not as interactive as some of the other toys on this list.

Goughnut Indestructible Chew Toy MAXX

Goughnut’s Chew Toy is perhaps the ultimate when it comes to tough toys and the MAXX version is the strongest version of it. There are two options of the MAXX Chew Toy, the MAXX Power version and the MAXX 50. The 50 is the strongest version and is the one we would recommended for those with Pit Bulls. It’s a little bit priceyer, but we think it’s worth it.

As we said above, Goughnuts products feature a safety indicator system that tells you when the toy is not safe to play with anymore. On the MAXX toys yellow means keep chewing and red means it’s time to stop. We think this is excellent, especially for Pit Bulls who love to destroy and eat toys. Goughnuts are so confident in their product, they will even replace it if your Pit Bull chews it down to the red!

The Goughnuts Chew Toy isn’t just for chewing however, both versions of the MAXX toy will float in the water and are great for games of fetch.

We think that the Goughnuts Chew Toy MAXX is undoubtedly one of the best toys on the market. It will be great when your Pit Bull wants to sink its teeth into something and will be excellent for games of fetch. If you’re looking for something to distract your dog for an extended period of time, something like the KONG toy with treats in it is probably better.

Reviews are excellent for the Goughnuts MAXX toys and the Chew Toy is even used by Police K9 units around the world. If you want the toughest, the Goughnut MAXX 50 is almost certainly your best bet.

Benebone Real Flavor Wishbone Chew

The Benebone Wishbone is much the same as the Nylabone Wishbone that was featured earlier in this piece. We can certainly attest to the toughness and durability of the Wishbone, as both out dogs have failed to destroy it yet. The Wishbone has been cleverly designed so that your Pit Bull can get a good chew on, which will keep your dog entertained for hours.

Manufactured in the United States, the Benebone Wishbone is available in a number of different sizes, from small to large. Benebone have also infused 100% real food ingredients throughout the Wishbone and it comes in three different flavours, REAL Bacon, REAL Chicken and REAL Peanut.

The Benebone is priced pretty comparatively when compared to its competitors and the company has an excellent customer service department. This is a big plus, especially if your dog is a tough chewer.

Reviews from around the world, including our own are incredibly positive. It is one of the most popular dog toys on Amazon and should definitely be in your dog toy arsenal.

West Paw Zogoflex Tux

West Paw’s Zogoflex Tux is another great option for those who are looking for a tough dog toy that you can put treats in. It’s an excellent alternative to the likes of KONG’s products and will keep your Pit Bull entertained for hours. West Paw are so confident in the design and strength of the Tux that they are prepared to 100% guarantee it against dog damage. The Tux is made in the United States from non-toxic materials and is dishwasher friendly.

The Tux is not only a tough treat dispenser but it will also survive even the toughest chewing dog, and that’s important if you have a Pit Bull. Treats can be frozen inside the Tux for even more fun and it can be used as a fetch toy as well. West Paw have designed the Tux so that it can float and they have put it through rigorous testing to make sure it is tough enough.

On Amazon and throughout the internet, the West Paw Tux has some of the best reviews of any dog toy on the market. We think your Pit Bull will love it!

Unbreakoball Dog Toy

The Unbreakoball Dog Toy is one of the toughest ball toys on the market for strong chewing breeds like the Pit Bull. It is extremely durable and thick, and it will withstand the destructive play of any large dog.

The Unbreakoball comes in various sizes from 6 inches to 10 inches and has a perforated design that lets your dog get a tooth in the holes to pick it up. It is made of super hard plastic rather than the softer plastic or rubber that most balls are made from. This means that it will withstand tough chewing, but won’t wear your dog’s teeth down.

Reviews are overall very positive for the Unbreakoball with the only real complaints being from smaller dog owners who have found that the ball is too hard for their pup. If you have a Pit Bull or other large breed of dog this is the ideal toy for you.

KONG Extreme Dog Toy, Black

Finally, the last toy on this list is the classic KONG. Nobody is equipped to deal with their dog’s boredom unless they have a KONG, and the Extreme black rubber version is the ultimate toy for tough chewing dogs. The KONG comes in various sizes and is made from the company’s own ultra-tough durable black rubber formula (like on the ball earlier in this article).

The KONG is an excellent distraction toy that can hold all sorts of treats and food in it. Treats can also be frozen inside the KONG for even more fun and it is great for those dogs who suffer from separation anxiety or boredom. The KONG is also recommended for those who are about to start crate training with their dog.

Both our dogs love their KONG and it has proven to be one of the most durable toys we have ever bought. The KONG is one of the toughest toys on the market and reviews are overall excellent. If your dog is particularly aggressive when getting its treats from toys we can imagine that this will shorten the life of the product. Still, we have had no problems ourselves yet.

Buying toys

Buying toys online is probably the best bet if you are looking for good deals and the best selection, however physical pet shops will generally let you bring your dog in to help assist with the toy selection. Taking your dog to the pet store can also be a great way to socialise your dog as well.

Conclusion

The toys on this list are just a selection of some of the excellent indestructible dog toys for Pit bulls. We’ve covered off a number of different toys from active to distraction toys and explained what a safe dog toy is. Just remember that no toy is completely indestructible and a determined dog can wreak havoc on any toy given the time to do so. Make sure you try to supervise your dog when they are playing with toys and replace them when it is necessary.

7 Best Tough Dog Toys For Huskies

Few breeds of dog are as distinctive as the Siberian Husky, with their wolf-like features and athletic build. The Husky is one of the most demanding dog breeds around and they can be hard work to own.

Keeping your husky entertained is incredibly important, so they need plenty of exercise, toys and games. Today we are going to be looking at the best tough dog toys for Huskies, ranging from puzzle games to chew toys.

Husky Breed Traits

Before we dive into what are the best toys for a Siberian Husky, let’s look at some of the personality and physical traits of a Husky.

  • Playful – Huskies love a good game and are bred to be active. They need a variety of different toys to keep their brains working and their muscles moving, so consider movement based toys or puzzle games.
  • Smart – Huskies are incredibly smart dogs and they need plenty of mental stimulation to keep them out of trouble. You will need to choose a toy that will work your Husky’s brain matter.
  • Strong and fit – While Huskies aren’t the largest or strongest breed of dog, they can still easily tear a weak toy apart in seconds. The toys you select for your Husky need to be tough and durable.

Things to Look for in a Husky Dog Toy

When you are searching for a dog toy for your Husky (or any breed for that matter), there are a few things you need to consider. You need to think about what sort of activity you want with your dog and what the toy will be used for. Are you planning to play games of tug with your dog? Or are you looking for something you can leave with them when you go out.

Let’s look at some of the different factors of a toy below:

  • Safe – We have first-hand experience with unsafe dog toys and we know they can wind up costing thousands in vet bills. Always read reviews to make sure the toy you are looking at it safe and is suited to your dog. Huskies can destroy many toys with ease, which can lead to them ingesting small pieces of the toy. This poses a chocking or internal obstruction risk, which is something you really don’t want to deal with.
  • Fun – A dog toy should be fun and engaging for Husky. Think about the things your dog likes to do. Do they like games of fetch? Or do they prefer to play tug? All these things are important when it comes to selecting the appropriate dog toy.
  • Durable – There is no point in buying a toy that will last five seconds when you get it home. Huskies are strong, powerful dogs and they will easily tear a weak toy apart in seconds. Look for toys made of solid, sturdy materials that are designed to last for many hours.
  • Cost – The price of a dog toy is a big factor when it comes to choosing the right one. This is more dependent on the owner and what they are prepared to pay. However, don’t feel that expensive dog toys are always better, as there are some great cheap dog toys out there.

The Different Types of Dog Toys

Not all dog toys are made the same and not all of them serve the same purpose. Some dog toys are used for a single purpose, while others can be used for multiple. Here is a look at the different types of dog toys you will come across.

  • Active toys – These are toys that are designed to keep your dog active and moving. Think of things like tug toys, fetch balls and training toys. Active toys are great for Huskies because they keep them mentally stimulated and exercised.
  • Distraction toys – These are toys that are designed to keep your dog distracted and mentally stimulated over an extended period of time. Think of a KONG filled with treats or other puzzle toys. Huskies love these sort of toys because they are incredibly intelligent.
  • Comfort toys – are toys that make your dog feel comfortable and safe. They are usually classed as soft and cuddly toys, and are usually the toys that your dog carries around all the time.

Toys That Can Be Dangerous to Huskies

Huskies are incredibly strong dogs and they destroy almost any toy given the time to do so. Some toys are designed to withstand the abuse of a strong dog like a Husky and will last much longer. Weak toys that are torn apart in seconds can be dangerous to dogs and could cause an expensive trip to the vets.

Always try to supervise your dog when they are playing with a toy and replace any toys that are starting to show signs of wear and tear. We have listed some toys below that we feel are unsuitable or dangerous to Huskies.

  • Brittle plastic toys are unsuitable for Huskies and they can be very dangerous. Any broken pieces of plastic can be a potential choking hazard or they may even cause an internal obstruction. Sharp pieces can also cut your dog’s delicate internals if they are ingested. Many good quality toys are made from plastic, but they are manufactured from stronger, more durable plastics.
  • Soft toys should be avoided if you have a Husky. They may be perfectly fine for smaller dogs and puppies, but an adult Husky will tear these sort of toys apart in seconds. Soft toys are like the cuddly animal toys you see in the supermarket or pet shop. They usually have stuffing and squeakers inside of them, which can be potentially dangerous to your dog.
  • Tennis balls are great for games of fetch, but they can be quickly destroyed by your Husky if they are left alone with them. The materials used to construct tennis balls can be harmful to your dog and they can cause an internal obstruction. Only give your dog a tennis ball if you can supervise them while they are playing with it.
  • Rope toys are excellent for games of tug, but the threads of the rope can be harmful to your Husky if they are ingested. We only know this too well as we were landed with a $6,000 vets bill (thankfully insurance paid for this) when the threads of a rope toy got caught up in our Winston’s intestines. If you do want to use rope toys, always supervise your dog and replace them if they start to show signs of wear.

The Best Strong Dog Toys For Huskies

Below we have put together a list of the best tough toys for Husky dogs. These cover a range of different toy types and will keep your Husky entertained for hours. Carry on reading to find out more:

Jolly Pets Soccer Ball

If there is one thing dogs love, it is a good ball to play with. If you have every tried to use a normal soccer ball with your dog, you will know that it always ends in disaster. Regular balls will deflate when they are punctured and your Husky will tear them apart quickly. That’s where the Jolly Pets Soccer Ball is so good.

Jolly Pets offers the ball in a couple of different sizes, but we think that the 8-inch model will be perfect for your Husky. You can also get the ball in three different colours, blue, green and red. It is made from the company’s own Jolly Flex material and is manufactured in the USA. The great thing is that even if your dog punctures the ball, it will still hold its shape. In addition to this, the ball also floats and all three different colours feature different scents.

With over 600 reviews on Amazon, the Jolly Pets Soccer Ball is sitting at 4.5 stars and we even bought one for out two dogs. If your Husky is destroying toys you are giving them, or you are worried about damaging your dog’s teeth with some of the harder plastic balls out there, the Jolly Pets Soccer Ball is definitely for you.

Goughnuts Indestructible Dog Chew Toy Maxx

If you are looking for the most durable dog toy, the Chew Toy Maxx range from Goughnuts is certainly your best bet. Goughnuts offers their Maxx Chew in a couple of different variations. You can purchase the toy in either a doughnut shape or opt for a stick. They also give you the option of two material types, Maxx Power and Maxx 50. Maxx 50 is slightly stronger and is designed for seriously strong chewers.

We purchased the Maxx 50 for our two dogs (you can see the review here) and it is without a doubt the most durable dog toy we have ever purchased. The toy is very large and we feel that the Maxx Power would have been perfectly fine for our two Labs.

The great thing with Goughnuts toys is that they feature a unique safety indicator that tells you when the toy needs to be thrown out. If your dog chews through the outer thickness of the toy to the red material inside, it indicates that you need to “stop” letting your dog play with it. Goughnuts is so confident in their product that they will replace the toy if it gets down to the red.

If you are looking for an active dog toy that is great for games of fetch than we would certainly recommend the Maxx Chew stick. The toy floats in the water so you don’t have to worry about losing it in the water.

The three tough and durable dog toys we have chosen for this article are the KONG Extreme, KONG Wubba and the GoughNuts Maxx 50 Stick. All three of these toys are designed for strong dogs; however, the Wubba is not a chew toy.

KONG Extreme

The KONG Extreme is claimed to be the company’s most durable product. It features their own proprietary black rubber compound and is shaped in the classic KONG shape. The KONG Extreme can be filled with all sorts of different treats and it makes for great games of fetch, due to its unique shape.

KONG offers the Extreme toy in a number of different sizes, so all sizes of dogs are covered. If you do not need the toughest version, the classic KONG is also available along with one for puppies as well.

KONG Wubba

According to KONG, the Wubba “is a fun, interactive toss and tug toy”. The toy features two balls covered in tough and durable reinforced nylon fabric. One ball is a standard tennis ball, while the bottom ball is a squeaker.

In addition to the two balls, there are also a number of long tails made from the same reinforced nylon material. These make the toy easier to pick up and are great for games of fetch or tug. The squeaker makes the toy a bit more interesting for dogs as well.

GoughNuts Maxx 50 Stick

GoughNuts Sticks are now the company’s best-selling product. They are used by Police K9 dog units all around the world and are claimed to be one of, if not the toughest dog toy available. The Maxx 50 Stick is the company’s toughest product, made from their most durable rubber compound.

GoughNuts Sticks and Rings also feature the company’s unique safety indicator. The Maxx 50 Stick features two layers of rubber, a yellow compound in the middle and a black one on the outside. If your dog chews down to the yellow rubber it is time to replace the toy. Other GoughNuts products feature a red warning colour on the inside instead of the yellow found in the Maxx 50.

The GoughNuts Maxx 50 Stick is designed for large dogs and comes in at 11.5 inches long by 2.1 inches in diameter.

Which Dog Toy Is the Most Durable?

In terms of durability and toughness, we have no doubt that the GoughNuts Maxx 50 Stick takes the cake here. The KONG Extreme comes in at second, while the KONG Wubba is a distant third.

We have no fear about leaving the Maxx 50 Stick with out two Labs, as it seems virtually indestructible. The toy shows absolutely on signs of any damage despite being chewed and used for vigorous games of tug.

If your dog damages the GoughNuts Maxx 50 Stick they must be some sort of monster. GoughNuts recommends the ring version of the Maxx 50 if you think your dog will damage the Stick, as it has less weak points.

The KONG Extreme is undoubtedly a seriously tough toy as well, but we feel it is a step below the Maxx 50 Stick. We feel that the toy is more likely to be damaged due to its hollow design. The rubber compound doesn’t seem as strong as well and marks easier. Despite this, we feel that the KONG Extreme should hold up against all but the toughest of chewers.

Moving onto the KONG Wubba, there is a serious downgrade when it comes to durability and toughness. The Wubba’s reinforced nylon just isn’t as strong as the rubber found on both the Maxx 50 and the Extreme toy. KONG does state that the Wubba is not a chew toy, so we can understand why it is weaker.

We have had two Wubba’s before this one. The first Wubba lasted about six months before it was torn apart, while the second didn’t even last a day. This is because we left it with our dog to chew on, which was a big mistake.

The KONG Wubba should be a toy that you hide away until it is playtime. For games of fetch and tug it has been incredibly durable, but it fails astoundingly quickly when a dog chews on it.

So What Toy Is the Most Fun Dog Toy

In reverse of the above section, the KONG Wubba comes first, with the Extreme toy in second and the GoughNuts in last place. Of course this is subjective, but our two dogs love the Wubba the most and the GoughNuts the least.

We find that the Wubba is the most interactive toy because of its great squeaker and its design is excellent for games of fetch or tug. Our two Labs even play tug with each other and it makes them go absolutely crazy. It is the one toy they will drop any other toy for and Winston (our boy) even hunts for it when we put it away.

Coming in second for its ‘fun factor’ is the KONG Extreme. The Extreme can’t be used for games of tug due to its shape, but its erratic bounce makes for hilarious games of fetch our dogs love. Stuffing the toy with different treats also keeps our dogs entertained for hours.

Last place is filled by the Maxx 50 Stick, however, that doesn’t mean it is a boring toy. The Maxx 50 is great for games of tug or fetch and the fact that it floats is great as well. Despite this, it is still the toy our dogs get the least excited for and has been interacted with less than the other two.

If you are looking for the most fun toy, then the KONG Wubba is certainly our recommendation.

What Do These Dog Toys Cost?

Depending on where you live, the cost of these toys will obviously vary. We live in New Zealand where dog toys tend to be expensive, however, we bought these three from Amazon. All these prices in the following section are in US dollars.

Both the large KONG Wubba and the XL Extreme toy were bought for $8.99, which we thought was an excellent price. These were on sale, but even at their regular price (about double) these toys are definitely worth your money. The price will obviously change slightly depending on the size of the toy you get.

Additionally, if you opt for the KONG classic or KONG for puppies instead of the Extreme, the price is slightly less as well.

The GoughNuts Maxx 50 Stick was definitely the most expensive toy we purchased at $32.99. It was significantly more expensive than the other two, but it will almost certainly last a lot longer. We feel we will get years out of this toy, so feel that the hefty up-front price is worth it.

The Maxx 50 compound is the most expensive GoughNuts rubber compound, so those who don’t think they need the extra durability could opt for less costly models.

What If I Have to Return These Toys?

Both KONG and GoughNuts have excellent return policies. They will both replace the toys if they are damaged by your dog and they are easy to work with.

Which Dog Toy Is the Best?

This is a difficult decision. The best toy obviously depends on a number of factors and we have explained the pros and cons of each toy above.

If you are looking for the most fun toy, the KONG Wubba is definitely it, however, its durability is questionable unless you put the toy away when it is not playtime. If you can remember to put the toy away after playtime or your dog isn’t a really tough chewer, we feel that the Wubba is undoubtedly the best toy.

The GoughNuts Maxx 50 Stick is definitely the most durable and toughest toy out of the three, but it is not as interesting. It is also quite expensive compared to the others, but it will last a long time. If your dog is really hard on toys, the GoughNuts is the one to go for.

Overall, we feel that the KONG Extreme is the best toy for tough chewing dogs when you factor in price, durability and fun factor. It is great as a distraction toy and will withstand all but the most extreme chewing dogs.

At the end of the day, you can’t go wrong with any of these toys. We feel that these three are probably the best toys on the market and are well worth it for any dog owner.

Seven Of The Best Ball Toys For Dogs

Balls are some of the best toys you can get for your dog. They are great for games of fetch, catch and some can even be used for games of tug of war with your dog. Our two black Labs love to play these games, so we’ve created a list of the best dog ball toys on the market.

In this article we are going to tell you why toys are so good for your dog, what ball toys to avoid and finally the best ones out there.

Why Do You Need Toys?

Exercise

Keeping your dog active and exercised is one of the best ways to keep them fit. While diet is important, exercise is just as important to keep your dog in the best shape. Without exercise your dog can develop a number of health issues including obesity and joint issues. Obesity itself can lead to a whole load of other complications as well, so make sure you keep your dog exercised!

To Help Keep Your Dog’s Mind Active

Dogs need to be mentally stimulated throughout the day to keep them out of trouble. Toys are one of the best ways to keep their body moving and their mind whirring. If a dog lacks any sort of mental stimulation or exercise they can become destructive and unruly, which is always a bad thing. A game of fetch with a ball will keep their minds active and away from your houses furnishings.

Dental Hygiene and Health

There is nothing worse than getting a good whiff of bad breath from a human and bad dog breath can be even worse. Keeping your dog’s teeth pearly white and their breath fresh is one of the most important aspects of dog ownership.

A dog’s teeth are incredibly important and there are a number of ways to keep them clean. You can use doggy toothpaste or special dental food, however, toys are another great way of keeping plaque and tartar under control. Overall it is best to use a combination of methods to keep your dog’s teeth clean.

It’s Fun and Will Make You and Your Dog Grow Closer

Playing with toys is great fun for you and your dog, and will help you bond with them. Dogs are pack animals and it is important for them to feel like they are important.

Safe Dog Ball Toys and Ones to Avoid.

Over the course of their life ball toys will suffer a huge amount of abuse, so it is important that you get quality toys. Damaged toys can be dangerous to your dog and in some cases can be life threatening.

It is important that you replace a toy if it is starting to look a bit ‘worse for wear’. If pieces of the toy are starting to come off or if there are cracks in a plastic ball toy, it may be best to replace them. Small broken parts of toys can get stuck in your dog’s throat or bowels, which could lead to an expensive trip to the vets.

The dog ball toys on this list are pretty sturdy, however if you are looking to extend the life a toy you may want to take it away from your dog when playtime is over. This will stop your dog from tearing it to pieces during the day, which means the toy will last longer.

Depending on the size and breed of your dog you may want to avoid certain ball toys. Larger and stronger dogs can easily destroy softer plush balls and tennis balls for example, however if you have a small dog these toys may be ok.

What Are The Best Dog Ball Toys?

We have talked about why toys are so important and how they can improve your dog’s health. We have also discussed dog toy safety and what toys to avoid. Now it is time to show you what we feel are the best dog balls on the market. Check them out below!

KONG Rubber Ball Extreme

KONG is one of the best known brands in the dog toy business and their ‘Rubber Ball Extreme’ is one of the toughest treat balls you can get. We have found that the Extreme Ball has been one of the most durable toys we have ever bought and our dogs absolutely love it.

The dog treat ball is constructed from KONG’s own ultra-strong and tough black rubber formula. It is available in a few different sizes and is made in the United States. KONG has designed a hole into the centre of the toy for treats to go in and the ball is very dense. It is great for games of fetch, but will not float.

If you are looking for an excellent treat ball for your tough chewing dog, then the KONG Extreme Ball is a good place to start. It is one of the few toys are dogs haven’t completely destroyed and we can wholeheartedly recommend it.

The ball is constructed from a super hard plastic that will hold up to hours of chewing from your dog. Despite the fact that it is super hard, Unbreakoball claims that it is soft on your dog’s teeth. It features a perforated design so your dog can get a good hold on the toy, and it comes in either a 6-inch or 10-inch size.

If you have a large or strong dog the Unbreakoball is the dog ball for you. Smaller dog owners have complained that the ball is just a little bit hard for their dog, so we don’t recommend this toy for puppies or smaller breeds.

KONG Stuff-A-Ball

Treat toys are one of the best toys to keep your dog entertained and distracted from doing naughty things. The KONG Stuff-a-Ball is not only an excellent treat toy; it is also great for games of fetch. It’s bouncy rubber material and unique shape give it an interesting bounce that your dog will love.

KONG has designed rigged grooves onto the exterior of the toy, which will remove unwanted plaque and tartar build-up on your dog’s teeth. The company also says that to improve the ball’s teeth cleaning abilities doggy toothpaste can be applied into the grooves.

The Stuff-a-Ball is made from KONG’s own non-toxic rubber compound and is three and a half inches in size. KONG claims that it is designed for dogs that are medium to large in size, so this may not be the best dog ball if your pooch is on the smaller size.

Reviews from dog owners around the world seem to be very positive and we feel this is one of the best KONG dog toys you can buy.

This tough dog toy ball will be great for interactive games with your dog, as it bounces and floats. It features a textured finish and a small treat hole so it can also be used as an excellent distraction toy as well.

The hole in the middle of the toy also allows the ball to squish down once it is bitten on and return back to its normal shape when your dog releases it. This makes for a softer ball that won’t wear your dog’s teeth down.

The Diamond Ball is manufactured from non-toxic materials and is made in the United States.

Chuckit! Ultra Ball

The Cuckit! Ultra Ball is about as standard as they come when it comes to fetch toys, however, that isn’t a bad thing. It is made from a natural rubber compound that produces an insanely high bounce and is perfect for games of fetch.

KONG Extreme Dog Toy Review

Buying toys for your dog can always be hard. You want something fun and durable that won’t empty your pocket. KONG is one of the most respected brands when it comes to dog toys and they make some of the most durable ones you can find.

Today we are looking at their Wubba Classic. We are going to look at its features, durability and fun factor. By the end of this article you should be able to make a decision on whether the KONG Wubba is the right toy for your dog.

A Brief of History of The Kong Company.

The Kong Company (or KONG) is a based in Colorado in the United States. KONG is most famous for their snowman-like chew toy for dogs, the KONG Classic. The company also makes a range of other different toys for both dogs and cats.

KONG was founded by Joe Markham and the first product was released in the 1970s. He noticed that his German Shepherd was damaging its teeth by chewing rocks. His dog also enjoyed chewing on a hard rubber Volkswagen bus suspension device, which he used as inspiration to create the first KONG product.

Markham’s friend labelled the toy as “KONG”, because he thought it looked like an earplug for King Kong.

What Is The KONG Extreme Dog Toy?

KONG states that their Extreme dog toy represents their most durable product. It is designed with their strongest black rubber formula and is created for the most extreme chewers.

The toy is shaped like a snow-man (or bee-hive) and can be filled with all sorts of different treats that will keep your dog entertained for hours. Due to its unique shape, the KONG extreme is great for fetch as it bounces erratically.

In addition to normal treats like biscuits, the KONG can be filled with rewards like peanut butter or you can even freeze treats in it.

This KONG toy is often recommended by veterinarians and dog trainers for anything from training to teething.

Are There Any Options for the KONG?

KONG offers the Extreme toy in a various different sizes to fit all breeds of dog. This review is based on the XL one. Additionally, if you don’t believe you need the toughest KONG toy, the company also offers the classic KONG (in red). There is also a version for puppies as well, which is designed to be easier on young dog’s teeth.

Is The KONG Extreme a Good Dog Toy?

The KONG Extreme is an excellent toy and is great for any tough chewing dog. Our two Labs love playing with the KONG and it is a great distraction toy when filled with treats. We often use peanut butter to keep them entertained, however, there are so many different other food items you can try.

It’s great for exciting games of fetch, but it obviously can’t be used for games of tug which is a shame. We feel that this classic shape KONG toy is an essential toy for any serious dog owner.

Is The KONG Extreme a Durable Dog Toy?

The KONG Extreme is definitely one of the most durable toys we have ever encountered. While something like the GoughNuts Maxx 50 Stick dog toy is probably more durable, we don’t have any worries about leaving this toy with our dogs.

This toy will withstand the majority of tough chewing dogs and KONG has a great return policy if you do have a problem with it. We have also used the normal Classic version and the Puppy version, which both seem to be very durable products as well.

The only real problem we have had in the past is that all our dogs seem to eventually bury. We are not too sure why, but it always seems to be a problem. Still, that’s not a knock on KONG, but more to do with the nature of our dogs.

What Is The Price of The KONG Extreme?

Not including shipping we paid US$8.99 for a XL KONG Extreme. The KONG Extreme was on sale at the time, but even at double the price we think the toy is well worth it. However, in your local area the price may be different. In New Zealand the same size KONG Extreme is over NZ$60, considerably more expensive than the one off Amazon.

Additionally, the Classic and Puppy versions of the KONG toy are less expensive. Remember that the sizing of the toy will also effect the pricing.

Is The KONG Extreme Worth a Buy?

This toy is definitely worth a buy. We feel that it is one of the best toys you can buy for your dog. It can be used to distract your dog and can be used for interactive games with them. While the fun factor isn’t as high as something like a KONG Wubba, it is definitely a more durable product.

Summary

Things We Like About The KONG Extreme

  • Excellent distraction toy
  • Durable and tough
  • Not too expensive, especially on sale
  • Great return policy
  • Quality feel
  • Can be used for exciting games of fetch

Things We Don’t Like About The KONG Extreme

  • Can’t be used for games of tug
  • Not as interactive as something like a Wubba

GoughNuts Maxx 50 Stick Review

Toys that can survive the tough and demanding play of stronger dogs are hard to come by. We have bought so many toys that claim they are ‘tough’, but only last seconds when up against our two Labs.

GoughNuts however, is a brand that is built on providing the toughest and most durable dog toys on the market. They have one of the best return policies of any company and their toys are guaranteed to be tough.

Today we will be looking at their GoughNuts Maxx 50 Stick dog toy. We are going to look at its features, fun factor and durability. By the time you finish this article, you should have all the information you need to decide whether the Maxx 50 Stick is the right choice for your dog.

How Did GoughNuts Start?

GoughNuts launched their first product in 2006, the Original Ring dog toy. The company noticed that there was a need for a safer dog toy that was both tougher and more durable than others. Their Original Ring design has no weak points and was designed to withstand months or even years of hard chewing.

The idea of the GoughNuts dog toy was first conjured up in the founder’s kitchen. They started with the idea that “Green means Go and Red means stop.” This means that if your dog chews down to the red indicating layer, you need to take the product away from them.

GoughNuts then added more products to their line-up, but retained the combination of a tough, durable toy that is safe for all of their products.

What Is a GoughNuts Maxx 50 Stick?

To complement their original ring dog toy, GoughNuts produced a range of toys in the shape of a stick. The GoughNuts Sticks have become the company’s best-selling interactive chew toy and they are used by Police K9 dog units all around the world.

GoughNuts offers the Stick in a number of different custom rubber compounds. The toughest and most durable is the Maxx 50, which we are reviewing today. It has a hardness modulus that is ten points higher than their original black rubber recipe. This toy is guaranteed for life and is claimed to be one of, if not the toughest dog toy on the market.

The GoughNuts Maxx 50 Stick features the company’s two layered safety indicator technology. Maxx 50 products are identified by a yellow dot, rather than a red one like on GoughNuts’ other products. If your dog gets down to the yellow ‘safety indicator’, you need to take the toy away from them immediately.

The Maxx 50 stick is 11.5 inches in length by 2.1 inches in diameter, so it is a fairly large dog toy.

You can read more about Goughnuts’ products here.

Which Dogs Are Suitable for The Maxx 50 Stick?

GoughNuts states that the Maxx 50 Stick is only for larger breeds of dog, who are serious chewers. If your dog is on the smaller size, they recommend you go with one of their other Stick products (green, orange and yellow ones).

This toy is designed for dogs who have destroyed almost every other toy on the market.

Are There Any Other Options?

What we are reviewing today is the Maxx 50 Stick, however, the toy is also available in a ring form as well. GoughNuts recommends the ring for dogs who are extreme power chewers, as it is less vulnerable to damage.

Like we stated above, GoughNuts also offers the toy in a number of different rubber compounds and sizes as well. If your dog isn’t the toughest on toys or isn’t large in size, we recommend you check out GoughNuts other offerings.

So Is The GoughNuts Maxx 50 Stick a Good Dog Toy?

We have no doubt that the Maxx 50 Stick is the toughest dog toy we have ever bought. The Maxx 50 Stick feels so solid in the hand its incredibly.

When it comes to fun factor we feel that the Maxx 50 Stick just isn’t up there with some of the other toys we have. Don’t get us wrong, it is great for games of fetch and even tug, but we find that our two Labs just aren’t as interested in it as other toys.

We understand that it is a toy that you should use with your dog, but we hoped that our dogs would show some interest in it on their own. Our dogs always seem to pick a toy like a ball or KONG’s Wubba over the Maxx 50 Stick, even more games of tug or fetch.

The GoughNuts Maxx 50 Stick is undoubtedly better when used outside. It can be thrown far for good games of fetch and it floats, so it can be used around water.

Is The GoughNuts Maxx 50 Stick Durable?

In a word, yes! This toy is the toughest one we own. There are no visible signs of damage and it feels like a quality product. GoughNuts lifetime guarantee is also great if your dog does manage to damage it.

Compared to something like a classic KONG toy, the GoughNuts feels much more solid. We have no worries about leaving it with our dogs during the day. The Stick is also infinitely more tough than our Lab’s favourite toy, the KONG Wubba, which we have to keep locked away when it’s not playtime.

While we haven’t had the GoughNuts Stick for that long, we feel that it will last for ever. If you have a really demanding chewer, this is definitely the toy for you.

Is The GoughNuts Maxx 50 Stick Expensive?

The Maxx 50 is priced pretty high compared to other toys on the market. Depending on where you live, the toy can range from expensive to outrageously expensive. We couldn’t find the Maxx 50 in New Zealand, so we bought it from amazon.com.

At around US$32 for the Maxx 50 Stick, we felt the toy was pretty well priced for the quality you are getting. While the toy isn’t our Lab’s favourite, we have no doubt it will last a long time. For those who want the toughest, the Maxx 50 is certainly worth the higher price.

If you don’t need the Maxx 50 Stick, the other rubber compounds and sizes came in at a lower price.

Would We Buy The GoughNuts Maxx 50 Stick Again?

To be honest, we don’t think we will ever have to. The toy is so tough and durable it should last years. If the toy did break, we would certainly buy another one as the quality is next to none. The GoughNut’s Stick is a great toy to supplement other products like a ball toy or a classic KONG.

Summary

Things We Like About The GoughNuts Maxx 50 Stick

  • Incredibly tough and durable
  • Great for games of fetch and tug
  • Excellent quality
  • Great return policy
  • The safety indicator is a great idea

Things We Don’t Like About The GoughNuts Maxx 50 Stick

  • Not as interesting as other toys on the market
  • Expensive compared to other toys

Kong Wubba Review

Buying toys for your dog can always be hard. You want something fun and durable that won’t empty your pocket. KONG is one of the most respected brands when it comes to dog toys and they make some of the most durable ones you can find.

Today we are looking at their Wubba Classic. We are going to look at its features, durability and fun factor. By the end of this article you should be able to make a decision on whether the KONG Wubba is the right toy for your dog.

How Did KONG Start?

The Kong Company (or KONG) is an American company based in Colorado. They design and develop a range of different dog and cat toys, and they are most famous for their snowman-like chew toy for dogs also named Kong.

Joe Markham founded the company and created the first KONG product in the 1970s. He noticed that his German Shepherd was damaging its teeth by chewing rocks. His dog also enjoyed chewing on a hard rubber Volkswagen bus suspension device, which he used as inspiration to create the first KONG product.

The name “KONG” came about because his friend commented that the toy he designed looked like “an earplug for King Kong.”

What Is A KONG Wubba?

According to KONG, the Wubba “is a fun, interactive toss and tug toy”. It is essentially two balls covered in durable reinforced nylon fabric. The ball on top is a tennis ball and the ball beneath is a squeaker.

Additionally, there are long tails made from reinforced nylon at the bottom of the toy. These make it easy to pick up and play games of tug with. It can also be used for games of fetch and the squeaker makes it a bit more interesting for dogs.

Are There Any Options

In one word, yes, there are a few options to choose from. There is a load of different sizes that cover almost all dogs.

Additionally, there are also different types of Wubba. We are reviewing the classic Wubba in this article, but there is a whole range of different ones available. Some Wubba’s are designed for smaller dogs, however, the one we are reviewing is better for larger breeds.

You can check out the different types of Wubba on the official KONG website.

So Is The KONG Wubba a Good Dog Toy?

Undoubtedly, the Wubba is our two dog’s favourite toy. They go absolutely crazy over it and love the squeaker. It is excellent for games of fetch and tug, and will keep your dog entertained for hours. We have found that our two dogs love to play tug with each other with the Wubba. It is great for play time both in and outside the house, and can even be used for training purpose.

Is The KONG Wubba Durable?

Now, onto the real question. While the KONG is our two Labs’s favourite toy, it certainly isn’t their most durable (that would have to go to their GoughNuts Maxx 50 Stick).

The KONG Wubba won’t fall apart in seconds like some toys, but it will be ripped apart if you leave it with your dog unattended. KONG does say the Wubba is not meant for chew sessions and we believe them. We keep the Wubba locked away when we can’t supervise our dogs and then bring it out for play time.

The Wubba seems to handle tug and fetch sessions incredibly well, showing little to no signs of damage. However, if the toy is left with our dogs during the dog, it wouldn’t last the day.

We are onto our third Wubba now. The first one lasted about six months, which we feel is pretty good for a toy of this nature. The second one (XL Wubba) didn’t last a day. This is because we left it with our dog and she managed to chew her way through the nylon material.

Despite the problems with the third Wubba, we thought we would try again as our dogs love the toy so much. This time we went back to a large size Wubba and only let our dogs play with it when we can supervise. Doing this has been much more successfully and the toy is showing little signs of wear.

Is The KONG Wubba Expensive?

Depending on where you are in the world, the Wubba can either be pretty expensive or relatively cheap. As we live in New Zealand, the Wubba can be quite expensive in local shops, but getting it shipped from Amazon wasn’t too bad.

We paid around US$8.99 for a large Wubba (not including shipping), which we felt was an excellent price for the amount of fun our dogs have with it. The normal price is a bit more expensive, but we still think that even at double the price the toy is worth it.

The sizing and type of Wubba will also effect the price, so remember that.

Would We Buy A KONG Wubba Again?

Definitely! The KONG Wubba has been the most enjoyable toy for our Labs. It may not be as durable as some other products on the market, but it more than makes up for it in fun factor. The Wubba is a great product to supplement other chew toys like the classic KONG and the GoughNuts chews.

Seven Great Dental Dog Toys

Dental hygiene and health is an incredibly important part of dog ownership. While dogs are not as prone to cavities as human beings, they can still develop a range of problems from tartar and plaque build-up and gingivitis. Bad breath and yellow teeth shouldn’t be your main concern however; canine dental problems can lead to life-threatening infections. It can also lead to problems surrounding vital organs like the heart, liver and kidney, so it is best to keep your dog’s teeth in good order.

There are a number of ways to clean your dog’s teeth clean from brushing, to different food types and trips to the vets, but today we are going to be talking about using toys to keep your dog’s canines pearly white.

What to look out for

Before we run you through what toys are going to be the best teeth cleaners, we want to tell you the signs of bad dental health. We have listed these below and if you notice any signs of these it may be worth taking a trip to the vets.

  • Depression
  • Excessive drooling or dribbling
  • Missing or misaligned teeth
  • Crooked, broken or discoloured teeth
  • Bad breath
  • Change in eating habits
  • Pawing at the face or mouth
  • Bumps or growths around or within the mouth
  • Red, swollen or bleeding gums
  • Pain when touching the gums
  • Yellow/brown tartar crust along the gum line

PetMD has some more excellent information on dog dental care.

When should you see a Vet

As we said, if you notice any of the problems above it may be worth it to visit the vets, especially if it is something serious like a broken tooth or loss of eating habit. Your vet should also check your dog’s teeth with a normal check-up and ask if they don’t.

Proper dental maintenance can be a real money saver in the long run and in some cases can even save your dog’s life. Letting it go past a certain point can lead to costly and painful visits to the vet, and could lead to lifelong damage.

Best Dental Dog Toys

There are many dental dog toys on the market to help keep your dog’s teeth in perfect working order. These toys are specifically designed to strengthen your dog’s teeth and gums, while removing plaque and tartar build up. If your giving your dog a toy, just remember that you are providing them safe ones and replace when they are worn.

Benebone Real Flavor Dental Chew Toy

Benebone’s Dental Chew Toy is one of the best dental dog toys out there. The Chew will keep your dog entertained while cleaning their teeth and is one of the best reviewed dog toys on Amazon.

A number of ridges are featured along the length of the Benebone Chew, which help to remove unwanted tartar and plaque from your dog’s teeth. To make the toy attractive to dogs they have then infused 100% real food ingredients into the bone.

Benebone offers the Dental Chew in three different flavours; Bacon, Chicken and Peanut. The toy also comes in various different sizes and is manufactured in New York from materials sourced in the United States.

We have found Benebone’s products to be some of the most durable toys we have owned and have no doubt that you and your dog will love them to.

KONG Dental Dog Toy

KONG is one of the best names in the dog toy business and their ‘classic’ toy is arguably one of the most popular toys on the market. The company manufactures a number of different styles of toys for different purposes, including the excellent ‘Dental Dog Toy’.

The KONG Dental has been designed with special grooves that will clean your dog’s teeth and gums as they chew. KONG also suggests using their Easy Treat product inside the grooves of the toy to get your dog chewing, or by placing treats inside of it.

The Dental toy is manufactured from KONG’s durable and tough classic rubber formula and is manufactured in the United States. It is available in a couple of different sizes and will be ideal for most dogs.

Reviews of the KONG Dental are very positive overall and many dog owners say it is one of strongest dog toys they own.

Nylabone Dura Chew Ring Dog Toy

Nylabone’s Dura Chew Ring Dog Toy is offered in either a smooth ring or textured ring shape. Both will be great for cleaning your dog’s teeth, but we feel the textured one might be slightly more effective. Nylabone has infused a chicken flavour into the bone and recommend it for large breeds of dog.

Our two black labs – Daisy and Winston – have both been giving the Nylabone a good chew for over a year now and there are little signs on wear on the toy. Reviews on Amazon are excellent, however, we have found that our dogs aren’t as interested in the Dura Chew as the likes of the Benebone product earlier in this piece.

KONG Stuff-A-Ball

Dogs love to eat and stuffing treats inside of toys is probably the best way to get them to interact with them. KONG’s Stuff-a-Ball combines the best of all worlds when it comes to dog toys. It is not only a great treat dispenser and a bouncy fetch ball, but it is also excellent at removing that nasty tartar and plaque build-up on your pooch’s teeth.

KONG manufactures the Stuff-a-Ball from their super-durable, non-toxic rubber that is used on many of their toys. It features rigged exterior grooves that clean your dog’s teeth and gums. To make your dog’s teeth shine even brighter, KONG recommends that you smear doggy toothpaste into the exterior grooves.

The Stuff-a-Ball is three and a half inches in diameter and is designed for medium to large breed dogs, ranging from dachshunds to boxers and poodles. The irregular shape of it also makes it an excellent fetch ball that your dog will love.

Reviews seem to be excellent for the KONG Stuff-a-Ball and we think your dog will love it to. If you are looking for a do it all toy, the Stuff-a-Ball is a good bet!

Hartz Dental Duo Dog Chew

Most of the toys on this list have been for larger dogs, so now it’s time to show you something that might be a little more suited to smaller dogs or puppies. The Hartz Dental Duo toy is an interesting one as it has a bacon flavoured edible centre that entices your dog to chew on it.

The Dental Duo is shaped like a small paw and the edible centre is surrounded by a hard nylon shell. Hartz claims that the toy will gently massage your dog’s gums, while removing excess tartar and plaque.

From reviews it seems like the edible centre of the toy will last about 10 to 15 days, but this will certainly vary depending on the size of your dog. As it is a bit smaller and the edible nature of the toy, we don’t recommend this for larger dogs or tough chewers who might eat the nylon shell.

Nylabone Dura Chew Flavoured Dog Dental Bone

Dental dog bones are your classic dental toys for dogs and there is no better than Nylabone’s Dura Chew range. The Dura Chew Bone is made from tough and durable nylon, and features a textured surface that increases chewing appeal while cleaning your dog’s teeth.

The Nylabone is offered in a range of different sizes so no dog will feel left out and bristles raised during chewing of the toy will help control plaque and tartar.

If you are looking for the classic dental dog bone the Nylabone Dura Chew is the product to go for.

JW Chompion Rubber Dog Chew

Our last toy on this list is the JW Chompion Rubber Dog Chew that is designed to meet the demanding chewing of your dog. It is offered in three different sizes; lightweight, heavyweight and middleweight, so there is one for every kind of dog.

The Chompion toy exercises the jaws, while giving your dog’s teeth and gums a good old clean. Nubbins designed onto the bone help remove plaque and tartar and the toy is made from an ultra-durable rubber compound.

The JW Chompion chew toy seems to be great for those who want a durable toy that will clean their dog’s teeth. Compared to the likes of KONG’s products, we feel that the Chompion probably won’t hold up as well, but it is still an excellent choice for those looking for a dental toy.

Check out the JW Chompion Chew here.

Summing Up Dog Teeth Cleaning Toys

This is just a selection of some of the great dental dog toys out there. Remember that dental toys aren’t the only answer to healthy teeth and you will need to use them in conjunction with other teeth cleaning methods to keep your dog’s dental hygiene in great order. Some of the other great ways of keeping your dog’s teeth clean are giving them dental dog chews and treats.

Another important factor when dealing with your canine companion’s teeth is food. Quality food is a vital part of your dog’s health and dental dog food can be an excellent way of controlling plaque and tartar build up.

If your dog is showing signs of any dental health problems, we recommend seeing a qualified vet to diagnose what the problem is. It could be something simple or something much more serious and getting it sorted soon will save you headaches and expensive bills later down the track.

There is no shortage of Donald Trump dog toys out there, however we think the Chomp a Chump Donald Trump dog toy has to be one of the best. It’s made of a durable and tough canvas material with strong stitches joining it together.

The toy features “USA” tape on his mouth so that you can’t hear him scream as your dog gets their big slobbery jaws all over him. Chomp a Chump even states that the toy will be a future collectible, however we aren’t too sure about that. Still, if you are not a fan of the latest President of the United States, this toy will set you straight.

Hillary Clinton Chew Toy

We’ve had Donald Trump, so now it’s Hillary Clinton’s turn. This Hillary Clinton dog toy is ideal for dogs and owners who are looking for a bit of democrat chewing action. The bone shaped dog chew toy will keep your dog shaking, biting, ripping and chewing at your most hated political figure for hours.

The Hillary Clinton dog chew toy is made from non-toxic materials and has a high quality image of Clinton with the words “I Swear” printed along the length of it.

Rubie’s Political Wig

No prizes for guessing who this wig is modelled after. If you are looking for something to dress up your dog and make them look like the president of the United States, Rubies got you covered.

The wig comes in two sizes, small/medium and medium/large, so it should fit most dogs out there. It has got the classic orange comb over and will be great for any politically minded dog. Rubies even offers a full business suit for your dog as well, which means they can have the full political package.
